About Roxy
Roxy is a lifestyle brand that originated from the water, specifically from the surf culture. It was introduced by Quiksilver in the summer of 1990 with a line of swimwear that quickly garnered attention and praise. The following year, Roxy expanded into sportswear, which was also well-received, marking the beginning of its journey towards becoming a major name in women's apparel. By 1993, the brand had gained significant momentum, and it was during this time that the Roxy logo, a heart-shaped crest derived from Quiksilver's iconic wave logo, was created.
Throughout the 1990s, Roxy established itself as a brand for girls everywhere, achieving mass-market appeal while still maintaining its core surf audience. The brand's offerings expanded to include accessories and eyewear in 1995, followed by footwear, watches, and Roxy Girl, a line for younger girls, in 1996. The expansion continued with the addition of a snow line in 1997, which included outerwear and accessories, as well as Teenie Wahine, Roxy's children's line.
The end of the decade saw further diversification with the introduction of jewelry, bags, backpacks, travel accessories, skate gear, and Roxy Room, a line of home decor items. The new millennium brought an exciting evolution for Roxy, with the launch of a full line of snowboards in 2003, produced in partnership with Mervin Manufacturing. That same year, Roxy also released Luna Bay, a series of young adult fiction novels, and introduced a toddlers' line in 2005. The brand continued to grow with the addition of a fragrance line and Roxy Ski, a line of skis and boots produced in collaboration with Rossignol's Dynastar brand.
Roxy's mission has always been to promote a daring, confident, and naturally beautiful lifestyle, encapsulated by its spirit of fun and aliveness. Today, Roxy is a global brand that provides products for every aspect of the active girl's life, from casual wear to professional sports attire, embodying the essence of the Roxy spirit in each item. The brand's history is marked by significant milestones, such as the sponsorship of Lisa Andersen, a four-time ASP Female World Champion, who became the first member of the Roxy team in 1994 and played a key role in the brand's success.
Roxy's popularity has grown over the years, and so has its product line and audience. The brand now offers a wide range of products that cater to the active lifestyle of women and girls, including swimwear, sportswear, denim, snowwear, and a variety of accessories. With its roots firmly planted in surf culture, Roxy continues to draw inspiration from the water, the mountains, and all the places in between where adventure calls.
