Altermaker
Altermaker is a pioneering force in software innovation for eco-design, dedicated to fostering the widespread adoption of alternative and environmentally conscious product development practices. Established in 2015 by co-founders Florian Bratec and Guillaume Jouanne, the company boasts a proficient team specializing in software development, alongside expertise in eco-design, Life Cycle Assessment, and environmental labeling.
The collaboration between Florian and Guillaume originated in Troyes back in 2011. Guillaume, an industrial systems engineer, served as an eco-design consultant, guiding companies across diverse sectors towards enhanced environmental performance. Meanwhile, Florian, a doctor in systems sustainability and skilled software developer, contributed to pioneering efforts in environmental product and service labeling within the tourism industry. Their combined experiences and insights led them to a pivotal realization: eco-design initiatives often remained confined within expert circles, posing a significant barrier to widespread adoption.
This revelation propelled the inception of Altermaker in 2015, with Guillaume and Florian at its helm. Leveraging their collective expertise, they embarked on a mission to democratize eco-design adoption through innovative software solutions. With unwavering commitment and bolstered by robust partnerships across industrial, economic, and scientific domains, Altermaker strives to make eco-design accessible to all.
Since the launch of its flagship platform, Ecodesign Studio, in 2016, Altermaker has successfully modeled thousands of products. Beyond this cornerstone offering, the company develops tailored solutions for a diverse range of industries, including textiles, furniture, stationery, mechanics, and food production. Through cutting-edge technology and a steadfast dedication to sustainability, Altermaker continues to shape the landscape of eco-conscious product development.
