MANGO MATERIALS
Two of the founders, Allison Pieja and Molly Morse, investigated the production of PHA biopolymers from methane and its biodegradation under anaerobic conditions as part of their Ph.D. research at Stanford University. After graduation, Molly consulted briefly in the venture capital industry, which motivated her to incorporate Mango Materials. Allison and a third co-founder, Anne Schauer-Gimenez, joined Mango Materials to turn their academic research into a reality. Molly had met Anne years earlier, while they were both Ph.D. students, at an anaerobic digestion conference hosted by Marquette University, Anne’s alma mater. Bill Shelander is a longtime friend of Mango Materials and helped navigate the ins and outs of company formation.
We’re World Changers We believe biopolymers are critical to preserving our natural environments, especially our beloved oceans. Biopolymers are no longer just a “nice to have”, they are a “need to have” – now. PHA offers a solution that is completely harmonious with nature.
A Mission to Disrupt Mango Materials is a renewable bioproducts company located in the San Francisco Bay Area that strives to be the global leader in the bio-manufacturing revolution. We have invented a proprietary platform that delivers optimally-formulated, biodegradable polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) pellets that incorporate into any supply chain.
