MATIAS & ARAÚJO
Matias & Araujo is a longstanding member of the Alliance for European Flax-Linen & Hemp, formerly known as CELC. Since its establishment in 1951, this organization has served as the sole agro-industrial group that unites all players in the European flax-linen and hemp value chain. With a network of 10,000 businesses across 16 European countries, it facilitates collaboration from the beginning to the end of the production process. The ultimate aim is to elevate flax-linen and hemp as globally favored, sustainable high-quality fibers. The reach of the Alliance extends beyond Europe, actively promoting the values and advantages of responsibly sourced natural fibers from farmers to retailers. The organization conducts vital strategic research and provides accessible economic and environmental data, along with reliable scientific evidence. These efforts are underpinned by the core principles of solidarity, innovation, scientific validation, and a commitment to both humanity and the planet. Additionally, the Alliance holds two certifications that assure the origin and traceability of its products: European Flax™ ensures the traceability of top-tier flax fibers grown in Western Europe for all markets, employing environmentally considerate farming practices without irrigation or GMOs (except in rare circumstances). Similarly, Masters of Linen™ guarantees traceability throughout the production of linen by European companies operating on European and Euromed 1 sites. This hallmark denotes a textile of utmost excellence, sourced locally at every stage, from the European Flax™ plant fiber to the final yarn and fabric.
