Responsible Sourcing Network

The Responsible Sourcing Network (RSN) is a nonprofit organization that works to promote human rights and environmental sustainability in global supply chains. The organization was founded in 2006 and is based in San Francisco, California.

RSN focuses on addressing human rights issues in the supply chains of various industries, including agriculture, apparel and footwear, electronics, mining, and seafood. The organization uses a multi-stakeholder approach to bring together companies, civil society organizations, governments, and other stakeholders to develop and implement solutions to human rights challenges in supply chains.

RSN believes that companies have a responsibility to respect human rights and protect the environment throughout their supply chains. The organization works with companies to help them identify and address human rights risks in their supply chains, and to promote more sustainable and responsible sourcing practices.

RSN's work is guided by international human rights standards, including the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and the International Labour Organization's (ILO) core labor standards. One of RSN's key initiatives is the Conflict-Free Sourcing Initiative (CFSI), which is a multi-stakeholder initiative focused on addressing conflict minerals in the electronics industry. The CFSI provides tools and resources to help companies identify and address risks related to the sourcing of minerals from conflict-affected and high-risk areas.

RSN also works to promote sustainable and ethical sourcing practices in the seafood industry. In addition to the Seafood Slavery Risk Tool mentioned earlier, RSN also works on initiatives such as the Seafood Working Group, which brings together stakeholders to promote responsible seafood sourcing practices.
