TemperPack Technologies
TemperPack, established 2015, produces ClimaCell®—a curb‑side‑recyclable thermal liner that displaces molded Styrofoam in meal‑kit and life‑science shipping. The Richmond‑based firm combines a vegetable‑starch foam core with kraft‑paper facings and a thin, water‑based barrier to create R‑values on par with EPS while allowing mills to repulp the liner like OCC. LCA modelling shows 65 % lower CO₂ e vs. EPS, and a 2024 ISTA test demonstrated 48‑hour ice retention at 2–8 °C. After securing $140 m from Goldman Sachs and Revolution Growth, TemperPack added a 200,000 ft² Las Vegas plant and acquired KTM Industries (Green Cell Foam) in 2023, giving it US‑wide production. Customers shipped over 40 m ClimaCell‑lined boxes in 2024—including UPS Healthcare and HelloFresh—saving 90 Olympic pools of plastic void‑fill.
