Touton Specialties is a specialty green coffee importer founded in March 2017 and based in Hamburg, serving coffee roasters of all sizes across Europe. As part of the Touton Group, which has been active in the coffee, cocoa and spice trading since 1848, we are constantly on the lookout for outstanding and high-quality nano and micro lots, farm coffees and certified coffees from various origins with a current focus on Rwanda, Burundi, Ethiopia, Costa Rica and Guatemala.

Our central vision is to foster lasting relationships with producers and customers built on a premise of transparency and quality. We strive to put the people along the value chain in the centre of our actions, providing them with innovative solutions to generate added value from countries of origin to final customers. ​Through regular trips to the origin countries, we have been able to establish valuable relationships with local producers and farmers in recent years. These direct producer relationships allow us to better understand and respond to the needs of farmers and communities. Here in Hamburg, we are a team of five.

Personal initiative and authenticity are our priority. Through our different backgrounds and experiences we inspire each other and develop new ideas. Our sample room is the focal point of our office. Here, not only the cuppings and quality controls take place, but it also serves as a space for meetings and inspires us in our daily work. The doors of our sample room are always open for our customers and prospects.

-TRANSPARENCY Knowing where our coffees are picked and processed and sharing this information with our customers is very important to us. For us, being transparent also means to stand by our word, meeting our customers at eye level and treat everyone with respect.

-QUALITY We stand for excellent quality and outstanding cup profiles. This also means to continuously widen our portfolio and to ensure quality control in Hamburg as well as in the origin countries. Quality is also important for us when it comes to service. We strive to fulfil our customers needs to their satisfaction.

-INNOVATION We want to provide our customers and people at origin with innovative solutions to generate added value from origin countries to roasteries. We don’t stand still, we are reactive and show initiative. ​ 

-EXPERTISE We are not only experts in sourcing and supplying quality green coffee, but passionate individuals in terms of origins, roast profiles, preparation, assortment planning etc. Through our unique expertise we want to become our customers' one-stop-shop.

OUR ACTIONS

1. Introduce good pulp management practices at Fuji CWS

2. Construct an organic vermicompost facility

3. Reduce 1/3 of waste pulp (25mt)

4. Distribute organic compost to approximately 2,500 trees

5. Encourage farmer awareness about sustainable organic farming practices and effects on quality & productivity
