ba&sh
Ba&Sh is a contemporary French fashion label that was founded in 2003 by two friends, Barbara Boccara and Sharon Krief, who wanted to create the perfect wardrobe for women. The brand offers high-end collections with a unique style, uniting an expression of freedom with an easy, joyful elegance. Ba&Sh has more than 292 points of sale in over 15 countries, and is on course for sales of 250 million euros in 2023.
Ba&Sh is also committed to making fashion more responsible, and has launched its BLOSSOM sustainable development programme in 2017. The programme has seven action points, focusing on materials, transparency, plastic, climate change, circular economy, women's rights and "breaking the glass ceiling". Some of the achievements and goals of the programme are:
- Increasing the use of eco-responsible materials, such as certified organic and recycled fibres, in its products. In its current spring/summer 2021 collection, 55 percent of its pieces are eco-responsible, compared to 22 percent last year. The target is to reach 95 percent by 2023.
- Implementing ethical practices for cruelty-free fashion by certifying that its raw materials are ethically sourced and that all its suppliers comply with the animal well-being charter.
- Reducing the use of plastic and banning virgin plastic by 2023. The brand is also ensuring that its plastic packaging is 100 percent recycled and 100 percent recyclable from 2022.
- Calculating its carbon footprint for the first time in 2020 and pledging to lower its greenhouse gas emissions in its supply chain.
- Promoting the circular economy by launching a second-hand platform where customers can shop or resell pre-loved Ba&Sh pieces.
- Empowering women and supporting their rights by partnering with various charities and organisations that fight against breast cancer, violence against women, and support orphanages.
- Breaking the glass ceiling by having a balanced and diverse team, with 80 percent of its employees and 60 percent of its managers being women.
Ba&Sh is a brand that combines Parisian chic with sustainability, and aims to grow together with its ecosystem for good.
