MIROGLIO TEXTILE
Miroglio Textile is a prominent Italian company with a rich history and a strong presence in the global fashion industry. Founded in 1947 by Giuseppe Miroglio in Alba, Piedmont, the company has grown from a local textile business into a multinational group with 30 business operations across 41 countries and 1,100 branded stores, including 800 in Italy and 300 in Turkey and the Middle East.
The company began its journey with the production of silk fabrics and the installation of looms, marking its transition from trade to industry. By 1955, Miroglio established Vestebene, now known as Miroglio Fashion, which focuses on the mass production of fashionable women's clothing. The expansion continued in 1958 with the opening of a modern dyeing, special cloth finishing, and textile-printing plant, completing the fabric-to-garment production chain.
Throughout the 1970s, Miroglio diversified its operations, moving some production outside Italy to countries like Greece, Tunisia, and Egypt, and expanding into the thread, yarn, and transfer paper industries. The company also opened new manufacturing operations in Southern Italy, particularly in the Apulia region.
Miroglio's commitment to social responsibility is evident through the Fondazione Opera Elena Miroglio, established in 1973, which focuses on cultural, welfare, and social issues, particularly for Group employees and their families.
The company's brand portfolio includes the Elena Mirò brand, launched in 1985, which caters to the more generous sizing womenswear sector. Miroglio has also forged strategic alliances with leading stylists and has introduced other brands such as Caractère, Diana Gallesi, and Motivi.
In terms of innovation, Miroglio's Sublitex division is a world leader in water-free transfer printing on paper and technical film for the textile, fashion, and architectural markets. This reflects the company's investment in research and technological innovation, which has exceeded 26 million euros over recent years.
Miroglio Textile's commitment to sustainability is also a key aspect of its operations, as it continues to explore fashion, heritage, and sustainability in its business practices.
Overall, Miroglio Textile stands as a testament to Italian craftsmanship, innovation, and a forward-thinking approach to fashion and sustainability in the textile industry.
